A Tocquevillian Perspective
Jianxun Wang is an Associate Professor of Law at China University of Political
Science and Law in Beijing. He studied law in China for almost ten years, and then
received his Ph.D. in political science from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2006.
His research interests include American constitutional history, political theory, and
Chinese law and politics. He published several books, including Taming the
Leviathan: A General Theory of Limited Government, which won numerous awards in
China. In addition, he wrote around two hundred op-eds and short essays in leading
Chinese newspapers and magazines.
