We will be viewing the classic film The Third Man, with a focus on themes such as the moral obligations we have to individuals, and their relation to political obligations; the value (or lack thereof) of loyalty and trust; and the relationship between art and entertainment. We will also discuss director Carol Reed's innovative stylistic techniques, particularly his use of light and shadow for both symbolic and artistic purposes.

Gabriel is an undergraduate studying philosophy, theology, and political science at Boston College. Outside of class, he is a Student Fellow at the Abigail Adams Institute, a leader of the St. Thomas More Society at BC, and a former fellow with the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton. In his free time, he enjoys good books, rigorous discussions, and classical music.
